The Tribute is owned and operated by Mike Pritchard. The boat runs out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, California.
Mikes History: I started working on boats in Ventura when I was 10 years old aboard the Capt Midnight. I moved on to working boats out of Port Hueneme like the Mirage and Pacific Eagle in my early to late teens. In 1996 I moved to San Diego where I spent several years working for Ray Sobiek aboard the Producer. In 1997 I got my captains license at the age of 20. I went to work as a second captain and engineer aboard the Excel, where I ran my first trip as Captain at the age of 23 and spent several more years there before moving on. I ran the International Star for several years as well as a couple years as Captain aboard the Intrepid before buying my boat (Polaris III and Holiday) in 2012. Now named the Tribute as a honor to the late Bill Poole (the Tribute was originally built as the Polaris III in 1966 and was Poole’s first long range boat). It’s a “TRIBUTE “ to his legacy.
